RONCES-LES-BAINS

8–12 May 2024

The 2024 ADAYADES ‘Sports and Leisure’ event took place from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 May 2024 at the AZUREVA centre in Ronce-Les-Bains, which was reserved exclusively for the occasion. 626 people attended, including 37 from Bordeaux (Villenave, Pierroton and Gazinet), proudly representing the Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Bordeaux centre. The fittest among them cycled to Ronce-Les-Bains, whilst the others travelled by coach alongside colleagues from Toulouse.

On the programme:

  • sunshine (we’d given up hope!);
  • an Olympic-style sports day with 16 events (square boules, Mère Fouras puzzles, giant table football, giant skiing, aquatic Scrabble, fun volleyball, a giant flamingo relay, and many more);
  • a sports day (volleyball, hiking, badminton, archery, pétanque, etc.) for adults and activities led by activity leaders for children and teenagers;
  • a leisure and discovery day with a choice of visits on the programme (La Palmyre Zoo, Île d’Aix, the ‘Little Seagull Train’, Cordouan Lighthouse) as well as activities such as sand yachting and tree-top adventure courses;
  • a raffle which was a great success and made many people happy: 56 prizes were donated, including 27 local produce hampers from local branches, 13 holiday stays ranging from one week to gift vouchers provided by holiday providers working with ADAS (Azureva, APV, PAV, MS Vacances, Pierre et Vacances, TIkayan, Neige et Soleil, VTF, Safrans Tours, LVL, Capfun, Croq Vacances), French national team rugby balls, boxes of four tickets for cultural outings from the GMF, a laptop bag + thermos flask + smart speaker from the CASDEN, beach bags + water bottles + mugs from the Royan Tourist Office;
  • a gala evening celebrating Charente-Maritime.

The 2024 honours list for Bordeaux residents on the sports day is:

  • Ghislaine Hilbert-Masson: gold medal for hiking on the day
  • Maïder Abadie and Sandra Pedemay: silver medal for badminton
  • Karine Hakim and Anne-Sophie Vidal: bronze medal in the half-day hike

We would like to thank all the organisers of ADAYADES 2024 for putting together such a wonderful programme in such a cheerful and friendly atmosphere! The venue (accommodation and catering) was perfect. Three of our members from Bordeaux were part of the organising committee: Hélène Bonnet, Angela Bornant and Cathy Spataro. Thank you to them for their hard work!

The national ADAS presented a trophy to each section.
